Dirkshof Implements Largest Single Project in Turkey

Dirkshof has demonstrated its long-standing expertise in wind energy not only in northern Germany but increasingly beyond national borders throughout Europe. A significant milestone in this international expansion is the successful acquisition and execution of a major project in Turkey.
Thanks to a strong network and strategic partnerships within the global economy, Dirkshof was able to initiate a highly profitable wind energy project in the Çatalca region, approximately 50 kilometers northwest of Istanbul. At this site, in cooperation with Universal Wind Energy (UWE), a wind farm with a total capacity of an impressive 211.2 megawatts has been constructed.
As part of the project, a total of 44 Nordex N133 wind turbines will be installed—each one with a rated power output of 4.8 megawatts. The construction permit for this project scheduled to run for 49 years was officially granted in early September 2020. Immediately afterwards, Dirkshof established its own branch office in Istanbul to efficiently oversee the planning and execution of the on-site infrastructure measures.
The site near the Black Sea coast offers ideal conditions for economically successful power production due to its consistently favourable wind conditions. The full installation of the wind turbines was completed by the end of 2021. With this project, Dirkshof sends a strong signal for the international expansion of renewable energy and reinforces its role as a reliable global partner in the field of sustainable power production.
