Construction Begins for the Future of the Energy Transition – 40 MW Storage Expansion

To expand the energy storage system by another 40 MW, construction works have begun in Reußenköge’s citizen-owned wind farm. This is a decisive step towards a more stable and sustainable energy supply in our region.

Another high-performance storage unit increases flexibility in grid operation and significantly contributes to integrating renewable energy sources. Combing wind energy with storage technology helps to improve the reliability of supply – even at fluctuating feed-in quantities – and to support the local energy transition.

Expanding the storage system has specific advantages:

-Giving more flexibility at grid operation at full capacity and power distribution
-Higher reliability in power supply through fast responsiveness of the storage system
-Climate protection through more efficient use of renewable energy and decrease of reserve power stations for fossil energy

By expanding the storage system, we contribute to the energy transition and illustrate how local solutions help stabilise the energy system.
