Upcycling XXL: Turning a tower segment into a swimming pool

We have turned a segment of a disused wind turbine into an indoor swimming pool. Various North German media reported on how our Managing Director Dirk Ketelsen's vision became reality.

For us, sustainability isn't just a marketing slogan – we're actively considering how we can act more sustainably in our everyday lives. This naturally includes the proper separation and disposal of waste – or even avoiding it altogether. We've transformed the lower tower segment of a dismantled wind turbine into a 25-meter-long swimming lane at Dirkshof.

This is a joy not only for our Dirkshof triathletes Eike and Ann-Christin, who can now train here, but also for the rest of the team. NDR television filmed a fitting report featuring the swimming pool and training sessions as well as interviewing Dirk Ketelsen about the upcycling process. The sh:z and Husumer Nachrichten also published articles about the project.
