Community wind farms as a successful model – Dirkshof shows how it’s done

Aminata Touré, Schleswig-Holstein’s Minister for Social Affairs, Youth, Family, Seniors, Equality and Integration, visited Dirkshof to learn more about the company’s work and projects on site. As part of her visit, she also gained insights from the perspective of a wind turbine.
The Reußenköge community wind farm illustrates how the energy transition can be combined with regional value creation: the Dirkshof team and management focus on models that allow local residents to participate financially. At the same time, funds are invested in local development, including daycare centers, playgrounds, schools, and community facilities. In Reußenköge, a local “child benefit” model has also been established.
The project is considered an example of how the energy transition can be implemented at a structural and economic level within a local community.
