Dirkshof on Television: RTÉ Ireland

Recently all over Europe the interest in sustainable energy has increased – in Ireland, too. Germany counts as the pioneer among European countries. The Irish Broadcast Team RTÉ visited Dirkshof in February and captured a comprehensive picture of the community energy parks in northern Germany. 

The Irish TV station asked Dirk Ketelsen, one of the founders of community wind farms, how and whether there is a possibility of importing the successful community wind farm model to Ireland. Why? Farmers in Ireland need an additional source of income, too. Owning their own wind farms would be an important source of income and generate additional tax revenue for local authorities.

Thus, Dirk Ketelsen was in dialog with Robert Shortt regarding the main question: What can Germany teach Ireland about wind energy?
