New diagnostic technology strengthens healthcare in North Frisia
A new state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner has officially gone into operation at Husum Hospital. The system enables significantly faster examinations, delivers higher image quality and uses AI-based software to support image evaluation.
The purchase was made possible by a €850,000 donation from Bürgerwindpark Reußenköge - the largest single donation in the history of the hospital’s support association. The District of North Frisia invested an additional €1.5 million in the new building and installation.
The new MRI system also offers greater patient comfort. Examination times can be significantly reduced, while video animations provide distraction during the scan. At the same time, the system is considerably more sustainable and requires only around seven litres of helium for cooling.
With this new technology, healthcare provision in the region will be strengthened for the long term.
